About the role
A growing online retailer is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer / Platform Engineering Manager to modernise its cloud platform. The role blends hands‑on engineering with team leadership, driving automation and shaping DevOps culture as the business scales.
Key responsibilities
- Modernise the existing AWS‑based platform, improving automation and reliability.
- Work with Kubernetes, Python, MariaDB, MySQL and PostgreSQL to enhance services.
- Balance 50 % hands‑on development with 50 % leadership of a small DevOps team.
- Define and implement best practices for CI/CD, monitoring and incident response.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align platform capabilities with business goals.
Required profile
- Recent experience stepping into a leadership role while remaining technically active.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset and passion for improving production platforms.
- Ability to mentor and up‑skill team members.

What we offer
- Salary range £100,000 – £105,000 per annum.
- Hybrid working model (2 days per week in the London office).
