Staff Software Test Engineer

About the role

CoMind is building a non‑invasive neuromonitoring platform for clinical brain monitoring. As a Staff Software Test Engineer you will shape the quality and verification strategy across the entire software stack, from embedded real‑time systems to cloud‑based data pipelines, ensuring compliance with medical device standards.

Key responsibilities

• Architect a scalable, high‑fidelity testing infrastructure that enables continuous validation and supports ‘design for testability’ across hardware and software layers.
• Define and implement an end‑to‑end verification & validation (V&V) strategy, mapping software evidence to system‑level safety risks (ISO 14971) and creating a compliance‑as‑code environment.
• Lead AI‑augmented test strategies, including predictive anomaly detection and automated test generation that learns from regressions.
• Mentor engineers and champion a quality‑first culture through Test‑Driven Development, CI/CD best practices, and automated quality gates.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and Software Engineering to embed safety and regulatory compliance into the development lifecycle.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software test engineering experience, preferably in regulated, embedded or SaMD environments.
• Deep knowledge of IEC 62304 and ISO 14971, with proven ability to embed risk controls into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong track record of building and scaling test infrastructure for both embedded hardware and cloud‑side pipelines.
• Experience driving cultural change toward quality, mentorship, and automation.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards (e.g., IEC 81001‑5‑1) and rigorous documentation for regulatory submissions.
