Learning Support Assistant (Personal Care) – Harrow

About the role

Join us for an exciting opportunity as a Learning Support Assistant in Harrow. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with special educational needs (SEN), including those requiring personal care. This is a rewarding role working closely with pupils who may have autism (ASD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), or physical disabilities, helping them access education and develop independence. The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references, reflecting our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to students with SEN
• Assist with personal care needs such as toileting, feeding, changing and mobility support
• Support students with communication and emotional regulation
• Work alongside teachers to adapt learning activities
• Use specialist equipment where required (e.g., hoists, sensory tools)
• Promote dignity, independence and wellbeing at all times
• Monitor and record student progress

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people in SEN, care, healthcare, nursery or similar settings
• Comfortable supporting personal care needs
• Patient, empathetic and resilient
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to learn and undertake training
