Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Neuromorphic Systems

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative academic to join the University of Manchester as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Neuromorphic Systems. The successful candidate will develop an independent research programme, supervise postgraduate students and staff, and contribute to teaching within an inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and conduct original, internationally‑recognised research in neuromorphic systems.
• Develop and strengthen national and international research collaborations.
• Secure substantial grant funding and other research income to support a growing research team.
• Attract, mentor and supervise postgraduate research students.
• Design and deliver teaching modules, contributing to curriculum development.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent (including industrial) experience in neuromorphic engineering.
• Proven track record of obtaining research funding and managing research projects.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise postgraduate students (desirable).
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion and collaborative working.
