Lecturer & Unit Leader – MA Creative Dance Education

About the role

The MA Creative Dance Education programme prepares artists, educators and facilitators for diverse dance‑education contexts. As Unit Leader you will deliver and coordinate one or more units, mentor students, and support the BA Contemporary Dance pathway.

Key responsibilities

• Teach, design curriculum, assess and mentor students in creative dance education (primarily afternoons and evenings).
• Oversee delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of assigned unit(s).
• Support students in developing pedagogical, creative and professional practices across varied contexts.
• Contribute to an inclusive, responsive and critically engaged learning environment.
• Assist with the Education & Communities pathway on the BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance course.

Required profile

• Relevant postgraduate qualification or professional experience in dance education.
• Demonstrated ability to teach at postgraduate level and mentor diverse learners.
• Commitment to inclusive and forward‑thinking teaching practices.

Required skills

• Curriculum design and assessment expertise in dance education.
• Strong communication and mentorship abilities.

What we offer

• Part‑time (16 hours/week) contract with a salary of £18,036 per annum.
• 12‑month fixed‑term appointment starting 04 August 2026.
