Legal Counsel

About the role

Healx is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support its AI‑driven drug discovery platform for rare diseases. This hands‑on, generalist role will work closely with research, clinical, partnership, technology, finance and operations teams across the UK, the US and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal support to internal teams, identifying and managing legal risks while balancing business objectives.
• Draft, review, negotiate and execute a variety of agreements, including NDAs, collaboration agreements, MTAs, MSAs, SSAs, work orders, and vendor contracts.
• Organise and maintain a searchable filing system for all legal contracts.
• Support strategic global partnerships with academic and industry collaborators.
• Develop and maintain legal processes, policies, templates and guidance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to embed best legal practices throughout the organisation.
• Manage company secretarial duties, including filings and compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an in‑house legal counsel or similar role, preferably in a technology‑focused or biotech environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to provide pragmatic, business‑aligned legal advice.
• Comfortable working with cross‑functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
• Tech‑forward mindset with interest in leveraging AI‑enabled tools for legal efficiency.
• Excellent independent judgement and critical thinking skills.
