Locum Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Acute Inpatient (Birmingham)

About the role

This temporary position is for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to support a busy acute inpatient team in Birmingham. The role focuses on high‑quality assessment, treatment and discharge planning for complex and frail adult patients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and treatments for adult inpatients.
• Develop and coordinate detailed discharge plans to ensure safe patient transitions.
• Perform access visits within the community as part of discharge planning.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated care.
• Manage a varied caseload of complex patients across the inpatient setting.

Required profile

• HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist.
• Previous experience working in inpatient hospital environments.
• Proven track record in discharge planning for complex adult patients.
• Car driver essential for community access visits.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Full‑time (37.5 h/week) or part‑time options.
• Competitive hourly rate of £24‑£26.
