Logistics Planner – United Kingdom

About the role

We are seeking a Logistics Planner to join our Birmingham team, supporting DHL Supply Chain’s UK operations. The role focuses on creating strategic and tactical transport plans, optimizing cost and service levels, and ensuring smooth execution across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategic and tactical plans using routing systems to achieve optimal cost‑service balance.
• Drive optimisation initiatives that reduce costs without compromising service quality.
• Analyse historical and forecast volumes to evaluate impacts on freight plans.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver best‑in‑class supply‑chain solutions for customers.
• Identify and resolve operational challenges and data discrepancies in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Previous experience in logistics or transportation planning.
• Familiarity with OTM and Microlise routing tools.
• Proficiency with Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
