Maintenance Engineer – Blue Shift

About the role

CooperVision is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the Blue Shift team, working 7 am – 7 pm on a 4‑days‑on/4‑days‑off schedule. The role is based onsite at the MountPark packaging and distribution site and focuses on keeping equipment and facilities running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests, diagnose faults and carry out repairs or arrange external support.
• Record all repairs, modifications and maintenance activities using established procedures.
• Source and procure non‑stock replacement parts, confirming specifications and delivery.
• Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) via the CVM system, testing and labeling equipment.
• Maintain building services such as fire and sprinkler systems, lighting, HVAC and general housekeeping.
• Train operators on basic maintenance and line set‑up, promoting safe practices.
• Provide specialist engineering support during design, build, testing, commissioning and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Monitor safety guards, interlocks and fixtures to ensure correct installation and operation.
• Support facilities management, coordinating contractors and site‑wide maintenance needs.

Required profile

• Willingness to work the Blue Shift schedule (7 am – 7 pm, 4 days on/4 days off).
• Ability to work safely with PPE, handle COSHH‑regulated materials and perform ladder, confined‑space and manual tasks.
• Physical capability for kneeling, bending, lifting and other routine maintenance activities.

Required skills

• Equipment troubleshooting and repair.
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) execution.
• Use of the CVM maintenance management system.
• Facilities maintenance including fire/sprinkler, lighting, HVAC.
• Procurement of non‑stock parts and vendor coordination.
