Maintenance Operative – Cambridge

About the role

Our client, a reputable organisation in the property sector, is looking for a Maintenance Operative to join their Cambridge team. This permanent, full‑time position involves hands‑on maintenance work and front‑desk service for resident accommodation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide maintenance and repairs to accommodation while handling front‑service desk enquiries.
• Carry out routine tasks such as refreshing paintwork, performing room check‑outs, checking doors and hinges, cleaning and inspecting shower heads, and general room upkeep.
• Conduct regular building patrols to spot maintenance needs and health‑and‑safety risks.
• Apply silicone sealing and diagnose bathroom issues effectively.

Required profile

• Strong communication and customer‑service abilities.
• Previous experience in carpentry or plumbing.
• Proficient use of a range of maintenance tools.
• Good knowledge of health‑and‑safety practices.
• Proactive, problem‑solving attitude with a commitment to improving residents’ living experience.

What we offer

• Salary £28,000‑£30,000 per year (depending on experience).
• Full‑time hours: 08:00‑17:00, Monday‑Friday plus one Saturday in five.
