Maintenance Operative – Kingston (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Maintenance Operative to join a residential property team in Kingston Upon Thames on a temporary basis. The role runs from 27 July to 11 September and offers a competitive rate of £18 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Support the on‑site Maintenance Technician with ad‑hoc tasks, including moving heavy furniture and equipment.
• Carry out repair and maintenance duties such as basic plumbing, painting and decorating, and replacement of lighting fixtures.
• Perform silicone sealing, mastic work, and surface material repairs to a high standard.
• Administer property maintenance in line with company policies and statutory testing requirements.
• Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and the Operations Manager.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or health‑and‑safety concerns promptly.

Required profile

• Team‑oriented attitude with respect for fellow staff members.
• Ability to follow health‑and‑safety procedures and use basic personal protective equipment.
• Willingness to attend a health‑and‑safety induction before the start date.

Required skills

• Basic plumbing (e.g., fixing leaky taps).
• Painting and decorating.
• Lighting replacement (lamps, tubes).
• Silicone sealing and mastic application.
• Surface material repair.
