Mechanical Engineer – Product Design & Manufacturing

About the role

We are partnering with an innovative, fast‑growing company in Cambridge to expand its Mechanical Engineering team. The Mechanical Engineer will design mechanical components and assemblies for new and existing products, create detailed engineering drawings, and support prototype builds and assembly activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical parts and sub‑assemblies using 3D CAD software.
• Produce engineering drawings for prototype and volume manufacturing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are manufacturable.
• Support prototype construction, testing, and documentation of build processes.
• Integrate mechanical designs with electrical components and apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of industry experience in mechanical or product design.
• Proven ability to design mechanical components and assemblies.
• Understanding of electrical integration and DFM concepts.
• Strong communication skills and a hands‑on engineering mindset.
