Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Machine Tools)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a strong background in machine tools to join a leading specialist forging manufacturer in Birmingham. You will work in a workshop environment, maintaining a wide range of equipment to ensure safe and efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on machine tools and production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
• Work a permanent rotating days shift (06:00‑16:00 Mon‑Thu / 06:00‑14:00 Mon‑Fri).

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer.
• Experience maintaining machine tools or heavy industrial equipment.
• Ability to commute to Birmingham.
