Mobile Maintenance Operative – Fabric Repairs & Reactive Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Mobile Maintenance Operative to support a major government contract across Bexley and surrounding sites. You will travel between locations delivering essential fabric repairs, reactive maintenance and ensuring all facilities remain safe and high‑performing.

Key responsibilities

• Execute fabric repairs including carpentry, plumbing, flooring and redecoration.
• Conduct specialised checks such as fire‑door inspections and fire‑door furniture repairs.
• Manage water hygiene – L8 compliance, tap temperature monitoring and flushing.
• Perform general upkeep tasks like AHU filter changes, lamp replacement and drainage clearance.
• Act as first responder for emergency leaks, blockages and make‑safe tasks.
• Supervise subcontractors and update the CAFM system (Maximo) via mobile devices.

Required profile

• Experience in carpentry, plumbing or painting (NVQ level preferred).
• Knowledge of fire‑door maintenance and Legionella control.
• Professional attitude for a client‑facing mobile role.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to participate in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
