Modern Foreign Languages Teacher (French/Spanish) – Leeds

About the role

Reed Education is partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Leeds to hire an enthusiastic Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teacher for September 2026. The role involves delivering engaging French and/or Spanish lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students and preparing them for GCSE examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver dynamic MFL lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Develop students' speaking, listening, reading and writing proficiency.
• Prepare learners for GCSE French and/or Spanish assessments.
• Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment.
• Contribute to language clubs, enrichment activities and school events.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher of French or Spanish (QTS or equivalent).
• Degree in French, Spanish, MFL or a related subject.
• Experience teaching MFL in a UK secondary school, including classroom management.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• GCSE teaching experience is desirable.

Required skills

• Ability to teach French.
• Ability to teach Spanish.
• Capability to teach both languages (advantageous).
