About the role
The Wellbeing & Engagement Officer supports students both face‑to‑face and online, delivering a consistent, high‑quality student experience. The role combines first‑line welfare support, referral to specialist services, and the creation of programmes that build student confidence and skills beyond the classroom.
Key responsibilities
- Manage welfare concerns and Learning Differences, Health and Disability (LDHD) cases, maintaining accurate records in line with GDPR.
- Provide 1:1 pastoral support, create and monitor Support Plans, and ensure safeguarding of all students.
- Organise and deliver welfare events, health registration assistance, and mitigating circumstances processes.
- Handle general student queries at the reception, support registration, arrivals, induction, and enrichment activities.
- Maintain effective relationships with university departments, agents, partners and external agencies, and provide timely reporting to stakeholders.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience demonstrating independent work.
- Safeguarding training or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting students in an educational setting.
- Proven ability to organise trips, visits and risk assessments.
- Experience creating engaging content, delivering workshops and facilitating student voice.
- Ability to work collaboratively with external partners and in a regulated environment.
