Network Engineer – Cisco & Aruba Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Network Engineer to design, deploy and support complex Cisco and Aruba network infrastructures for a leading Managed Service Provider. The role is based in Portsmouth with a hybrid schedule (four days onsite, one day remote) and requires nationwide travel to client sites.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and support Cisco routing, switching and firewall solutions.
• Implement and upgrade Aruba WLAN and switching deployments.
• Deliver network implementation projects across diverse client environments.
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support for incidents and service requests.
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics and performance optimisation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to maintain high service standards.
• Maintain accurate network documentation and follow best practices.
• Assist pre‑sales activities with solution design and technical input.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Cisco networking (routing, switching, firewalls).
• Experience with Aruba solutions (WLAN, switching, ClearPass a plus).
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, WAN/LAN environments and network security principles.
• Background in an MSP or multi‑client environment is highly desirable.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP and Aruba ACMA/ACMP are advantageous.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
