About the role
Join the NHS 111 team in Otterbourne as a Health Advisor, providing calm and confident support to callers during a wide range of health concerns and emergencies. This full‑time, office‑based position offers a fast‑paced, rewarding environment where every shift makes a difference.
Key responsibilities
- Answer a high volume of inbound calls, assessing health issues and providing appropriate advice.
- Escalate genuine emergencies to the appropriate emergency services.
- Guide callers through symptom checking using NHS Pathways.
- Document interactions accurately and maintain confidentiality.
- Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture.
Required profile
- Compassionate and confident communication style.
- Resilience and ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Strong desire to help others and provide excellent service.
- Minimum age of 18 and right to work in the UK.
Required skills
- NHS Pathways system proficiency (training provided).
What we offer
- Starting pay of £13.17 per hour plus NHS pay enhancements (up to £22.26 per hour on weekends/holidays).
- Band 3 salary range £25,760 – £27,476 per year (pro‑rated).
