Operations Manager – Retail Store

About the role

The Operations Manager will support the Store Manager in delivering a safe, efficient and customer‑focused retail environment across one of Morrisons' stores. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, mentoring store leaders and ensuring compliance with food safety and legal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end store operations, allocating resources to meet routine standards.
• Mentor and develop talent across the store and region, building a pipeline of future leaders.
• Partner with the People Manager to embed a culture comfortable with change.
• Ensure all departments comply with food safety laws and legal requirements.
• Support managers with action plans to improve departmental performance.
• Contribute to the annual store plan with a commercial mindset, identifying opportunities to maximise performance.
• Drive sales targets, motivate colleagues and develop local initiatives within the company framework.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders to deliver continuous improvements for customers.
• Monitor product availability processes and provide feedback to improve the customer experience.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a retail or similar operational environment.
• Ability to create an inclusive, values‑driven workplace.
