Outreach Tutor (1:1) – Part‑time – Birmingham

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Outreach Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 lessons for primary‑aged pupils who have been out of education for a period of time. The role focuses on re‑engaging learners, rebuilding confidence and preparing them for a smooth transition back into school.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver tailored one‑to‑one lessons that address individual learning gaps.
- Provide structure and routine to support pupils’ daily learning habits.
- Monitor progress closely and report outcomes to the Prospero Teaching team.
- Adapt teaching approaches to suit each pupil’s needs, including those with SEND or low engagement.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Current right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and two professional child‑related references.
- Experience teaching in UK classrooms, preferably with SEND or disengaged learners.
Required skills
- Ability to create and adapt lesson plans for one‑to‑one settings.
- Strong classroom management and student motivation techniques.
What we offer
- Flexible part‑time schedule (approximately 15 hours per week per pupil) aligned with family availability.
- Competitive hourly rate (£22+ per hour, up to £30 per hour based on experience).
