Outreach Tutor – 1:1 Primary Education Support

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Outreach Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 lessons for primary‑aged pupils who have been out of formal education for a period of time. You will work directly in the community or in the pupil’s home, helping to rebuild confidence, re‑engage learners and prepare them for a smooth transition back into school.
Key responsibilities
- Design, plan and deliver tailored one‑to‑one lessons that address individual learning gaps.
- Monitor pupil progress and adjust teaching strategies in collaboration with Prospero Teaching.
- Provide structure and routine to support the pupil’s daily learning schedule.
- Communicate regularly with families to align lesson timings with their convenience.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in UK classroom settings, preferably with SEND or disengaged learners.
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two professional child‑related references.
Required skills
- Ability to create engaging, differentiated lesson plans.
- Strong classroom management and student motivation techniques.
