Paraplanning Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Paraplanning Team Leader for a growing financial planning firm in Birmingham. The role combines hands‑on paraplanning work with leadership of a small team, providing expert technical support to both paraplanners and trainee advisers on complex client cases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of two Paraplanners.
• Act as the technical subject‑matter expert across pensions, investments, retirement planning and taxation.
• Provide guidance and technical assistance to three Trainee Advisers.
• Produce and review suitability reports for complex financial planning cases.
• Conduct technical research on pensions, investments and protection products.
• Maintain high standards of report writing and regulatory compliance.
• Support the development of junior team members and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Significant paraplanning experience within a financial planning environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, retirement planning and taxation.
• Excellent report‑writing and analytical abilities.
• Diploma qualified or working towards Chartered status (advantageous).
• Previous line‑management experience is beneficial but not essential.
