Part-Time Medical Officer – Army Assessment Centre

About the role

Join Capita RPP as a part‑time Medical Officer supporting the British Army recruitment process. You will carry out medical screenings, handle appeals and approvals at the Army Assessment Centre, ensuring that only fit candidates progress through assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct face‑to‑face medical assessments for Soldier and Officer candidates.
• Screen paperwork, manage appeals and maintain service standards.
• Coach and support clinical staff to meet productivity and quality targets.
• Deputise for the lead medical doctor during absences.
• Assist with first‑level appeal processes and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain GMC registration, licence to practise, accreditation and appropriate skill mix.

Required profile

• Fully GMC‑qualified medical practitioner with an unrestricted licence to practise.
• Strong organisational abilities and capacity to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• IT literacy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programmes (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

What we offer

• Salary of £52,008 per annum (FTE £80,000).
