Part‑Time Materials Controller – FMCG

About the role

Valeo Foods UK is seeking a part‑time Materials Controller to ensure the right materials are available at the right time to support safe and efficient production across its site. This highly visible position works closely with site leadership, production, purchasing, planning and the wider supply chain team.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end site materials planning and control to meet production plans.
• Manage availability of raw materials, packaging and indirect materials.
• Lead stock management activities, including inventory accuracy, stock turns, waste and obsolescence control.
• Drive S&OP and MRP discipline, escalating risks and challenges proactively.
• Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to manage service levels, shortages and constraints.
• Support cost control, working capital targets and budget objectives.
• Ensure all materials processes meet food safety, quality and compliance standards.
• Identify and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Coach and develop site materials or planning teams where applicable.
• Act as the materials subject‑matter expert during audits, product launches and operational change.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a materials, planning or supply‑chain role within FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of MRP, inventory management and production planning.
• Ability to work confidently in a fast‑paced, operational environment.
• Clear, structured communicator who can challenge constructively and influence at all levels.
• Experience driving process improvement and operational discipline.
• Comfortable using ERP systems and data analysis.
