Site Supervisor – Night Shift

About the role

Lanes Group is seeking a Night Site Supervisor to lead a team of HGV tanker drivers delivering non‑hazardous liquids across the region. The role is based in York and operates on a night shift schedule, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant waste‑contract operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily site activities, ensuring engineers and drivers follow PPE and company policies.
• Conduct audits, training and competency checks for engineering staff.
• Maintain health and safety standards on‑site and manage basic vehicle maintenance and stock.
• Prepare work instructions, solve operational problems and coordinate site set‑up and stand‑down.
• Plan driver breaks for 12‑hour and 24‑hour shifts and manage deliveries and equipment off‑hiring.
• Provide regular updates to clients and respond to ad‑hoc requests from senior leadership.

Required profile

• Strong leadership with a focus on safety, quality and compliance.
• Ability to engage, motivate and recognise a night‑shift workforce.
• Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
