People Partner – 15‑month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

Willmott Dixon is seeking a People Partner on a 15‑month fixed‑term contract to support its Construction Midlands business. Based in the Central Birmingham office, you will work hybrid, combining office, home and occasional site visits, to translate people strategy into everyday impact.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with managers and leaders to deliver consistent, high‑quality people support aligned with business priorities.
• Assist the Recruitment Team with attraction activities and ensure a professional candidate experience.
• Oversee onboarding to help new starters become productive quickly.
• Coach managers on attendance, wellbeing, objective setting, performance management and feedback.
• Drive development plans, learning initiatives and career pathways.
• Manage employee exits with empathy, gathering insights for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR business partnering within a fast‑moving, operational environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Demonstrated capability to deliver HR services across the employee lifecycle.

Required skills

• Knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations processes.
• Familiarity with HR metrics and data‑driven decision making.
