Pet Claims Handler

About the role

Davies Group is seeking a Pet Claims Handler to join its Niche Claims team in Preston. The role is ideal for someone who loves animals and wants to support policyholders with queries and insurance claims for cats and dogs. Full training will be provided, so a passion for detail and strong administrative abilities are key.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with customers, insurers and colleagues across the country.
• Compose clear letters and other written correspondence.
• Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Review data to set up new claims and update internal systems.
• Analyse policy wordings to confirm claim coverage.
• Follow standard claims procedures to assess claim validity.
• Maintain accurate information in the claims database.
• Provide high‑quality assistance via telephone and written channels.
• Adapt to changing departmental requirements and undertake additional tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience with pet claims is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Reassuring telephone manner and professional attitude.
• Computer literate with strong keyboard skills.
