Primary Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Flexible Supply Teaching

About the role

We are looking for Primary Early Career Teachers (ECT) who want flexible, short‑term supply work across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 in Chester and surrounding schools. This role lets you gain hands‑on classroom experience while delivering pre‑planned lessons and enjoying a balanced workday. You will work directly in schools, covering day‑to‑day absences and supporting long‑term class teacher assignments as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, pre‑planned lessons for EYFS, KS1 or KS2 classes.
• Create a warm, positive and structured learning environment for young children.
• Apply positive behaviour management strategies that align with each school’s ethos.
• Provide clear hand‑overs for the permanent class teacher at the end of each day.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised UK primary teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd).
• Experience or training across primary age groups (EYFS, KS1, KS2).
• Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one with support).
• Passion for primary education and a patient, adaptable approach.
