About the role
Academics Ltd is seeking a motivated Learning Support Assistant to work across several primary schools in Birmingham. The role is temporary with the possibility of a longer‑term placement for the right candidate, supporting children with diverse learning needs and helping them achieve academic and social success.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and educational activities.
- Support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, speech and language difficulties, and mental health concerns.
- Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour among pupils.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming learning environment.
- Observe and record pupil progress and give constructive feedback to teachers.
Required profile
- Enhanced DBS check (must be on the update service).
- Relevant qualifications or experience working with children.
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training as needed.
