Primary Teaching Assistant – Flexible Days in Birmingham

About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to support pupils across schools in Birmingham and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible scheduling, allowing you to choose the days and locations that suit your work‑life balance while gaining experience in both short‑term and long‑term placements.
Key responsibilities
- Support the classroom teacher in delivering daily lessons and activities.
- Create a positive, engaging atmosphere for all pupils.
- Provide tailored assistance for SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) students.
- Monitor student progress and report observations to the designated teacher.
- Help de‑escalate behavioural issues and reinforce positive behaviour in line with school policies.
Required profile
- Enhanced DBS check (must be on the update service).
- Relevant qualifications or prior experience in a teaching support role.
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training as required.
Required skills
- Basic classroom management techniques.
- Understanding of SEND support strategies.
