Principal Applied AI Scientist

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Principal Applied AI Scientist to design, build and deploy AI solutions in complex, constrained environments. This senior technical role focuses on end‑to‑end delivery and real‑world impact.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI/ML solutions from concept to production.
• Collaborate with users to translate real‑world problems into technical specifications.
• Write production‑grade Python code and manage model lifecycle.
• Deploy AI systems in secure, offline or air‑gapped environments.
• Utilise GPU hardware for training and inference, optimising performance and scalability.
• Influence technical direction through expertise and delivery.
• Share knowledge and support continuous learning within the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Applied AI Scientist or Data Scientist.
• Strong Python engineering skills for production environments.
• Experience building and deploying AI solutions without cloud‑managed services.
• Solid understanding of modern AI/ML techniques and GPU‑based training/inference.
• Ability to work independently and own end‑to‑end delivery.
• Excellent problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement abilities.
