Production Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Production Engineer to lead the development, optimisation and standardisation of our metal‑sawing and related manufacturing processes. You will ensure safe, efficient operations while driving continuous improvement across the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, define and optimise metal‑sawing and machining processes, including cutting parameters, tooling selection and material performance.
• Create and maintain clear work instructions and best‑practice documentation to standardise output.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects to reduce scrap, rework, cycle time and consumable costs using data‑led analysis.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, supporting risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Provide technical support for equipment and tooling selection, trials, commissioning and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality and supply‑chain teams to align processes with operational needs.
• Monitor performance metrics, analyse trends and deliver actionable reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a process‑engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong technical understanding of metal‑sawing, metals processing and material behaviour.
• Solid knowledge of industrial health and safety requirements.
• Ability to analyse process data and apply structured problem‑solving techniques.
• Experience creating and maintaining standard operating procedures.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
