Project Communications Officer

About the role

Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution team is seeking a Project Communications Officer to support the Emmock–Hurlie project, a key part of the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment programme. The role will be based at Logie Business Park, Kirriemuir, with regular travel to construction sites across a 74 km corridor.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver activities outlined in the project communication and community engagement strategy, providing timely information to all stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate audience data and segmentation in line with GDPR for effective communication delivery and measurement.
• Produce and manage a monthly project newsletter, capturing stories, milestones and key updates from site teams.
• Work closely with project managers and client service teams to resolve enquiries and complaints promptly.
• Coordinate and participate in community relations events, public exhibitions, meetings and liaison working groups.
• Manage a site‑visit programme to showcase expertise, raise the project profile and build trust with local communities, customers and partners.
• Support the implementation of project communication plans and identify opportunities to highlight project achievements.

Required profile

• Experience delivering communications and community engagement for large infrastructure or construction projects.
• Familiarity with GDPR requirements and audience segmentation practices.
• Proven ability to produce clear, engaging written content such as newsletters and stakeholder updates.
• Strong stakeholder relationship‑building skills, especially with local communities, landowners and supply‑chain partners.
