Project Manager – HVACR

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead HVAC and refrigeration projects across commercial, industrial and data‑centre environments in the UK. The role combines on‑site supervision, technical coordination and client interaction, offering a varied and technically challenging portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of HVAC & refrigeration projects from sales handover to completion.
• Plan, schedule and control project delivery, procurement and financial performance.
• Manage installation of YORK and other HVAC/R equipment, ensuring quality and timelines.
• Review P&IDs, schematics and technical documents, providing guidance on chillers, refrigeration systems and AHUs.
• Oversee installation, commissioning and project close‑out.
• Act as Principal Contractor, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and leading health‑and‑safety reporting.
• Build strong relationships with customers, consultants and subcontractors, delivering regular progress updates.

Required profile

• Proven project management experience within HVAC, chillers or industrial refrigeration.
• Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration, cold‑water chillers, HVAC plant and retrofits.
• Experience managing budgets, procurement and logistics.
• Understanding of CDM regulations and on‑site health & safety.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings.
• Willingness to travel to London and Southern UK sites.
