Pub Cleaner – The Henry Bessemer, Workington

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team at The Henry Bessemer pub in Workington. As a Cleaner you will help maintain a spotless environment for customers and staff, working flexible shifts across mornings, evenings and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise all customer areas, toilets, bar, kitchen, staff rooms and external spaces.
• Carry out daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks following standard operating procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to guidelines.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and alert the manager when stock is low.
• Report any maintenance or pest‑control issues to the duty manager.
• Greet customers politely and maintain a friendly presence.
• Complete induction, role‑specific training and ongoing refresher sessions.

Required profile

• Positive attitude, reliable and able to work well in a team.
• Calm under pressure and willing to learn on the job.
• Flexible availability for shift work, including late finishes.
• Not suitable for under‑18s due to lone‑working requirements.
