Purchaser – Office based in Birmingham

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Purchaser to join the operational team of a well‑established luxury‑goods manufacturer in Aston, Birmingham. The role is office‑based, full‑time, and offers the chance to develop purchasing expertise within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and review key supplier relationships, monitoring on‑time delivery and pricing.
• Plan and raise purchase orders in the ERP system for required materials.
• Review re‑order levels regularly to ensure adequate stock and timely deliveries.
• Process internal purchase requests, identify suitable products and issue purchase orders.
• Coordinate with the Stock Control Manager and goods‑in team to ensure smooth internal receipt and booking of deliveries.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in a purchasing role.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with knowledge of metals and related terminology.
• Ability to work in an office environment five days a week.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a digital ERP system.
• Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
• Ability to calculate re‑order levels and safety stock.
