About the role

Academics is seeking a caring and reliable Qualified Nursery Assistant to join a nurturing nursery in Cheltenham. The role offers flexible working options, making it suitable for those looking for summer holiday work, part‑time term‑time hours, or a position that fits around existing commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily nursery routines and activities.
• Encourage children through play‑based learning.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment.
• Assist with children’s early years development and well‑being.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Follow safeguarding and nursery policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Recognised Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous nursery or childcare experience preferred.
• Genuine passion for working with children.
• Positive, reliable, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Good understanding of children’s development and safeguarding.
• Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
