Quality Advisor – Power Transmission & Distribution

About the role

Join the Power Transmission & Distribution team to support the coordination, submission, compliance and management of all assurance activities for critical infrastructure projects. The role involves on‑site work (minimum three days a week) and requires a DBS check.

Key responsibilities

• Attend pre‑start meetings for high‑value or complex projects.
• Support project teams in developing and monitoring quality plans, inspection & test plans, and reviewing supply‑chain submissions.
• Assist delivery teams in meeting deliverables, managing issues, and providing quality advice to the supply chain.
• Use existing and digital systems to establish benchmark plans, monitor performance, and manage issues against targets.
• Collate and deliver handover records on time, adhering to the Business Management System.
• Support internal and external audits and implement quality strategies across the project lifecycle.
• Participate in training, coaching, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Conduct investigations and reporting on quality‑related issues.
• Promote Balfour Beatty values, Zero Harm, and Right First Time principles.

Required profile

• Prior quality or relevant operational/technical experience in the sector.
• Knowledge of ISO9000 terminology.
• Strong commitment to quality management and business improvement initiatives.
• Ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts, work to plans and programmes, and see tasks through to completion.
• Excellent relationship‑building and influencing skills.
• Effective oral and written reporting abilities.
• Willingness to challenge existing methods and work within a multi‑discipline team.
