Quantity Surveyor – Civils (HS2 Project)

About the role

You will join a Tier 1 contractor’s commercial team in Birmingham, working on the high‑profile HS2 infrastructure programme. The role offers hybrid, flexible working and the chance to influence cost performance on a major civil engineering project.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial and contractual aspects of allocated civil work packages.
• Prepare valuations, cost reports and forecasting data.
• Support NEC contract administration, compensation events and change management.
• Ensure accurate measurement, quantification and cost analysis of works.
• Build strong relationships with internal delivery teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes.

Required profile

• Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience on large‑scale infrastructure or heavy civil projects.
• Sound understanding of NEC contracts and commercial procedures.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and reporting abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.
