Reconciliation & Year-End Accountant (3‑4 month contract)

About the role

This 3‑4 month contract offers a unique chance to join a well‑known charitable organisation and lead its complex year‑end financial close. You will act as the main liaison for external auditors while ensuring statutory accounts are prepared accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare group statutory accounts, applying Charity SORP and handling partial exemption/restricted funds.
• Reconcile large volumes of balance‑sheet data and ensure all accounts are fully balanced.
• Develop efficient reporting tools to streamline the year‑end process.
• Liaise with internal teams to guarantee accurate transactional processing.
• Complete VAT and Gift‑Aid returns in compliance with UK regulations.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CIPFA preferred).
• Experience working within a charity environment and familiarity with Charity SORP.
• Strong technical finance knowledge and ability to improve processes.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
