About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kent County Council’s Youth Justice Service as a Restorative Community Development Practitioner. You will create, facilitate and deliver a range of restorative and reparative interventions, activities and projects that meet statutory obligations for children in the youth justice system.
Key responsibilities
- Design and run restorative resources and activities that are sustainable, engaging and suitable for diverse skills, abilities and interests.
- Collaborate with multi‑agency partners and community groups to ensure interventions align with victims’ wishes and reflect the impact on all parties.
- Provide pathways for children to gain accreditation for transferable skills developed through activities.
- Support children’s desistance by fostering constructive interests and opportunities for success.
Required profile
- Experience working with adolescents who have experienced trauma and display challenging behaviours (e.g., youth work, social work, early help, youth justice).
- Ability to engage children effectively, with or without formal qualifications.
- Willingness to work collaboratively across agencies and community settings in West Kent.
