Safe Life Structure Engineer – Airworthiness

About the role

Join Airbus as a Safe Life Structure Engineer within the Maintenance Programme Engineering team. You will act as the technical authority for safe‑life structural components, ensuring they remain compliant and operational across all Airbus commercial aircraft programmes (except A220).

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical certification and serve as the primary interface for new safe‑life structure parts, such as landing‑gear components.
• Sign off as Technical Approver (TA) and Compliance Demonstration Engineer (CVE) on critical airworthiness deliverables.
• Represent airline operators within Design Engineering to embed scheduled maintenance requirements early in the design phase.
• Help reduce Direct Maintenance Costs while maximising aircraft availability.
• Deploy and supervise outsourced work packages, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and supporting digitalisation initiatives.
• Support the Maintenance Engineering Front Desk by resolving airline technical queries within agreed timelines.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent with 5‑10 years of professional experience, preferably in aeronautical engineering support or aircraft maintenance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of airframe engineering with a focus on safe‑life structures.
• Broad understanding of civil aircraft systems and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
• Fluent English with strong presentation, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills.
