School Caretaker (Full‑time/Part‑time/Temporary)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced caretaker to join a forward‑thinking school in Birmingham. The role can be full‑time, part‑time or temporary, supporting the site team throughout the academic year.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance tasks across the school premises, including repairs and routine checks.
- Pick up litter and ensure the campus remains clean and safe.
- Perform odd jobs assigned by the supervisor, such as minor carpentry or plumbing tasks.
- Open and close the school building each day and set the security alarms.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a caretaker or maintenance role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Flexibility to work varying hours and adapt to the school timetable.
- Willingness to start on a temporary basis and potential to move to a permanent contract.
- Ability to register with the agency and provide right‑to‑work documents.
Required skills
- General building maintenance.
- Basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry knowledge.
- Use of hand and power tools.
