School Receptionist (Part‑time, Temporary)

About the role
We are seeking a friendly and organised School Receptionist to join our client’s team near Wallingford on a temporary, part‑time basis. The role starts as soon as possible and runs until 17 July, providing essential front‑desk support during core school hours.
Key responsibilities
- Answer the telephone promptly and politely, taking messages for teaching and other staff.
- Welcome visitors, issue security badges, and ensure all entrants are authorised.
- Manage incoming mail and email, distributing information to parents via letters or email.
- Prepare meeting rooms and provide refreshments as required.
- Maintain up‑to‑date medicines and consent forms, and ensure paperwork is in place for administering medication.
- Contact parents/carers of children who are unwell and record attendance on Integris.
- Collate daily school meal numbers and forward them to the kitchen using Bromcom.
- Record late arrivals or early departures and update registers accordingly.
- Provide first‑day responses to parents/carers of absent pupils and report concerns to relevant staff.
Required profile
- Current DBS certificate or ability to obtain one.
- Previous experience in a school reception or similar front‑desk role is beneficial.

What we offer
- Hourly rate of £13.50.
- Part‑time schedule: 8:30 am – 2:00 pm.
- Temporary fixed‑term contract until 17 July.
