Secondary Music Teacher – Full‑Time (Sept Start)

About the role
The school is seeking an enthusiastic Secondary Music Teacher to start in September. You will join a high‑achieving, supportive community and help shape the musical journey of students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging music lessons for KS3, KS4 (GCSE) and KS5 (A‑Level).
- Plan and assess curriculum content, ensuring strong academic outcomes.
- Lead and support extracurricular ensembles, concerts, productions and other musical activities.
- Collaborate with the music department and wider faculty to enhance the school’s performing arts culture.
- Maintain effective classroom management and high expectations for student achievement.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching music at secondary level, including GCSE and preferably A‑Level.
- Demonstrated passion for music education and strong subject knowledge.
- Commitment to contributing to the broader life of the school.
Required skills
- Deep knowledge of music theory, repertoire and performance practice.
- Ability to design and deliver curriculum that meets national standards.
- Effective classroom management techniques.
- Experience organising ensembles, concerts and other music‑related events.
