Secondary School IT Technician – Birmingham

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Technician to join a busy secondary school in North Birmingham. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑4 pm, providing day‑to‑day technical support for staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for the school’s ICT systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Maintain and manage staff email accounts and the school Management Information System (MIS).
• Assist with password resets, projector set‑up and routine user training.
• Carry out software installations, hardware upgrades, security updates and backup procedures.

Required profile

• Recent experience in a similar school or corporate IT support role (within the last 2 years).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to train non‑technical users.
• Up‑to‑date DBS check (mandatory).
• Positive references for a comparable placement.
