SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant – KS1 & KS2

About the role
Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming SEN school in Chigwell to hire an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for its KS1 and KS2 teams. The role offers a chance to make a real impact on pupils’ progress within a supportive, friendly staff environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a class for half a day when staffing gaps arise.
- Deliver targeted interventions alongside class teachers.
- Create engaging learning resources to support academic progress.
- Collaborate with the SENCo to support pupils with SEN and EAL needs.
- Set learning targets and provide assessment feedback.
Required profile
- Previous experience as an HLTA or Learning Support Assistant is desirable.
- Strong initiative and ability to take responsibility.
- Good knowledge of the primary curriculum.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning is ideal but not essential.
