SEN Teacher – Primary Special School (September Start)

About the role
We are seeking a qualified SEN Teacher to join a welcoming primary special school in Birmingham from September. The role involves teaching a small class of primary‑aged pupils with a range of special educational needs, delivering highly personalised lessons and supporting both academic and social development.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for a small class of SEN pupils.
- Create a nurturing, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support pupils’ communication, independence and personal development.
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, specialist staff and external professionals.
- Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external agencies.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience working with children who have additional needs is desirable.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality, inclusive education.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team.
Required skills
- Strong classroom management and lesson planning abilities.
- Knowledge of SEN frameworks and EHCP processes.
- Effective communication with pupils, parents and multidisciplinary teams.
