SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary Phase (Key Stage 3)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the secondary phase of an all‑through academy in Harrow. You will support Key Stage 3 pupils with a range of special educational and behavioural needs, helping them stay focused, complete tasks and manage emotions positively.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for students with SEN and behavioural needs.
• Assist pupils in staying engaged during lessons and completing classroom activities.
• Help students develop strategies to manage emotions and behaviour.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers and the SENCo to deliver tailored support.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions.

Required profile

• Experience supporting young people in educational, youth or community settings, or relevant personal experience.
• Ability to work effectively with 11‑14‑year‑old pupils.
• Willingness to receive training and follow guidance from senior staff.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
