SEN Teaching Assistant – September Start

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in South West London from September. You will support children and young people with special educational needs, helping them achieve academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Assist students both in and out of the classroom to access learning.
• Build positive relationships that encourage confidence and independence.
• Implement individual learning and behaviour plans.
• Support pupils with communication, social, emotional and sensory needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
• Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs is advantageous.
• A patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their potential.
• Relevant education, care, support work, youth work or psychology background welcomed.
